Winston is a product of Big Brother, just like those whom he hates.

Mr. Parsons is easily lead, and his fear forces himself to make himself ignorant.

When people stop asking questions and just believe what they are told they become orthodox, and they lose an important part of being human: free and independant thought.

It is a horrible job because Winston is changing the past and lying to the people of Oceania and the fact that
Winston does what he does, shows that his character has to, somewhere in his mind, agree with the rules of Oceania. On the other hand though, it contradicts the image that the reader is given of Winston because his overall outlook on the government seems to be quite negative and yet, he is working to enhance the way people look at the Party and Big Brother.

Fear gives the ability to keep control over people with secrecy and keeps them from questioning the truth

The ability to judge someone from a first impression, and come to a conclusion about that person that will never change is a rare gift ( possibly not even possible.)

Freedom really has been abolished because true freedom means to be able to act, feel, live, and behave without laws and rules in your way.

Totalitarian governments typically do their best to destroy the intellectuals who undestand the way the government works.

The proles who are the "lower class" actually have more freedom than the party members and only thier altered reality dictates the "upper" and "lower" classes.

In 1984, the Inner Party rules over everything and not much can be done without their knowing of it.

The party creates devout followers void of any individual thought

The Party is trying to control people through their eviroments.

he's not afraid or scared that the government hanger prisoners; it's all just entertainment to hiim which is dangerous.

The Party aims to extinguish the possibility of individual thought. They plan to do so by creating a new language called Newspeak.

Winston's constant questioning of his own memories and the "memories" of the past created by the government demonstrate that truth and reality are shaped by our thoughts and perception of the world around us.

In George Orwell's 1984[/i][i] Winston's realization that "Orthodoxy is unconsciousness" represents The Party's ultimate goal of creating a society of citizens who follow Big Brother in blind faith.

Compared to most other people in the owld of 1984, Winston questions and wonders, which is why he stands out as not being 'Unconciously Orthodox.'

He asks no questions and his feeble mind never gives
any intimation of any sort of futher curiosity, never questioning anything in his dull life.
