Anyone have any good tips?

I know you should eat protein right after you are done exercising. Meat, tofu, yogurt with protein powder, clif bar, cheese (mozzarella is best).

Also if you are going to do a big workout the next day carbs are very good, whole grains are the best carbs.

Anyone else know anything more?
Anyone want to correct me?

Not only food but water and gatoraid is important also. Your body needs water to keep hydrated and it is always good to drink gatoraid after exercising because your body has a glycogen window that should be filled within 30 min of exercising.

If you've had an intense workout it is good to have salts to replenish your muscles, and it helps with preventing them get stiff.

salts are actually very good to have, just make sure to have a lot of water/gatorade when you have them. When you don't have salts your muscles start to twitch and then it just goes downhill from there.

Yeah my muscles were going crazy when i did a century. i didn't eat nearly enough, and i didn't have like any salt. I was just eating clif bars, it is important to have more than just clif bars. I definitely didn't have enough food.

This thread is to help people not give them incorrect advice advice.
If you are going to give advice give a reason besides it is a wonder food.

haha i've heard talk that chocolate drinks are a new after workout drink. Like a protein shake or something, of course accepting that, is up to you.

Protein would not help your muscle recovery, it just increases your ability to build and use your muscles. Gatorade is a good drink for muscle recovery.
Also, it would be appreciated if anyone on the nutrtion topic includes some sort of citation for claims they make. I will try to get citations myself.

Haha, a nutrition page. Vegetarianism. Which basically eliminates fast food. Vegetarians CAN eat dairy, but not fish. Many people get that confused.
